Thanks for the comment Eric. Just to reiterate, the sites in question are asking for money only for expedited reviews. However, as I stated in the article, this is a slippery slope.

This is completely bogus, and any reviewer / web site that charges for reviews ought to be ashamed of themselves. I personally could never trust the integrity of someone that felt they needed to charge for the privilege of writing a review. How could we as readers believe that the review wasn't slanted towards the developer, especially if that reviewer hopes to get more business from the developer? Over the course of almost 300 reviews I have never even considered asking a developer for money to write the review. The only thing I have ever asked was for a full copy of the game (and in some instances haven't even gotten that) and a link from their site to my review when possible. Of course, if the review isn't favorable I don't expect them to post the link, but in theory it's all part of the deal. I would love to make money off of this hobby of mine, but if I ever thought a site I was reviewing for was charging for those reviews, I would no longer have anything to do with them. It just doesn't seem right.
